Transitioning from subscribers to patrons

In late November, Schooltraq made the transition from subscriber-only to a patronage program that offers free accounts and the ability to “upgrade” to a Patron program that supports our costs.

If you’re a current Schooltraq subscriber, you don’t have to do anything. You’ve been automatically switched to a $1.99/month Patron plan. New users can’t get this price level, and you can feel good about continuing to help pay for our services.

If you would not like to become a Patron, don’t worry! Although we’ll be a bit sad, we will prorate any remaining months on your plan back to you, no questions asked. Please make sure to do this by December 15, 2013.

It’s important to us that we run this service with integrity, and we’re committed to making this transition right for our current subscribers. Contact Support to get a prorated refund or if you have any questions.

Why did you change from subscription-only to a Patron system?

Truthfully, the answer is more philanthropic than not. As students ourselves, we were frustrated and hurt that we often turned away students that were not able to afford Schooltraq. We want to offer a quality academic planner to everyone.

Thanks to the generosity of our Patrons and increased private funding, we can afford to offer free accounts to everybody while asking that those with the means to support us continue to do so. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.
